Oversized Gym Towel™ Success Journal
Follow me as I build this business to $50,000 per month in passive income.
I have a confession to make. I don't want to write this article right this moment. It's not you, it's me (cliche right?).
Tired, sleep deprived, burnt out from my day job, and wanting to melt into my keyboard describes how I'm feeling.
It's because of that very fact that I need to write this. I'm sure you, like me, are just as burnt out and tired, and I'm assuming that if you're reading this, you need a boost to get through this next hurdle.
To help I'm going to share with you some actionable tips on getting shit done even if you don't feel like it.
My first tip is to write down why you need to keep going. Is someone you care about depending on you? It's 10:20pm here and my girlfriend is passed out next to me, our cat has cancer, my brother is depressed, and my aging dad doesn't have a car to get groceries. I'm not sharing for sympathy, I'm sharing because these are things that motivate me to "do" even though I don't feel like "doing".
These are the reasons why I'm not curled up and snoozing with our Jack Skellington pillow.
Take a moment, open up word pad, google docs, sticky notes, anything and write down why you need to do what you're doing.
Next try to listen to some music while you work - if you need to focus try something without words, however there's nothing quite like a good song to get you in the zone to get things done. Scar Issue by The Color Morale is blaring through my earbuds at the moment.
If you care to listen - the Spotify list I'm playing as I write this.
I'm not going to say much more than that, music speaks for itself! Get some tunes going!
Last remember not to beat yourself up for not wanting to get shit done right this moment. It's counterintuitive, but in the long run, you'll get more done by accepting you're a human (we all are), and sometimes we can only do so much.
This is coming directly from an ex-workaholic that used to pull 100+ hour weeks in the music industry.
I believe in you - and appreciate you taking the time to read this.
